About Crisis Compass Carolinas
Crisis Compass Carolinas helps the organizations that respond to disasters in North and South Carolina find each other before they’re needed, and our guides point families to the right help.
Our purpose
Crisis Compass Carolinas helps people and communities prepare for, get through and recover from disasters. We do it through financial resilience education, better access to recovery resources, coordination among partners and public information shared from official sources.
When we share public information, we name the official source and link to it. We never issue our own warnings or evacuation advice.
Where we fit
Emergency management leads disaster response. Voluntary organizations, faith communities and long-term recovery groups carry much of the recovery. We support that system. We don’t command incidents or replace anyone in it, and the organizations we work with keep control of their own cases and decisions.
Who we are
Zach Howder and Konner Fallos founded Crisis Compass Carolinas in 2026. They also run a real estate business. They started Crisis Compass separately and keep the two apart with the commitments below.

Our commitments
We put these rules in writing so you know where we stand.

- SeparationInformation that comes to Crisis Compass never goes to any business our founders, directors or staff own.
- Personal informationOur systems hold information about organizations, volunteers and supporters. We don’t collect personal details about families affected by a disaster, and we never sell, rent or trade anyone’s information.
- GovernmentWe never speak for a government agency or claim an endorsement we don’t have. We name an organization publicly only with its written permission.
- AdvertisingSomeone looking for disaster help shouldn’t become an ad target. This site runs no advertising pixels.

The organization
Crisis Compass Carolinas filed Articles of Incorporation as a North Carolina nonprofit corporation in October 2026. It has not yet received IRS recognition of tax-exempt status, so gifts go through our fiscal sponsors. We aren’t a government agency, and we don’t provide emergency services. See Donate for how giving will work.
